Defending champions Australia became the first team to qualify for the Women’s World Cup semi-finals with a thumping win over Bangladesh. Chasing 199 to win, Australia finished off with a 10-wicket win inside 25 overs in a demolition job. Alyssa Healy smashed yet another century to put the Women in Yellow into the knockouts.
Women’s World Cup 2025: Australia make yet another semi-final
The most successful side in Women’s World Cup history made yet another semi-final after a stunning performance in Vishakapatnam. Healy and Co made it 4 wins in 5 games after their match against Sri Lanka earlier was washed out. Australia hence now go into the their final two league games, knowing a defeat will not deter them from a spot in the semis.
Healy made it back to back centuries after her monstrous 142 in a record chase against India. Phoebe Litchfield played the perfect support to finish with 84 to seal the victory with 25 overs to spare.
