WATCH: Sanjiv Goenka livid after another Rishabh Pant flop show, storms out of balcony

Sanjiv Goenka was seen storming out of the balcony after captain Rishabh Pant was dismissed on Monday from the LSG vs SRH game. Pant endured another tough outing, having been bought for an auction record Rs 27 crore. His captain’s failure was too much to bear for the LSG owner, who walked away in disgust after yet another disappointing show.

LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was good spirits when Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram got the hosts off to a flyer. The duo put on a century partnership before Marsh was dismissed. In walked Rishabh Pant, trying to turn around his own and team’s fortunes. However, the LSG captain failed to cope with the pressure. He managed just 7 before being caught and bowled by Eshan Malinga.

While the LSG captain was himself disappointed, his boss and team owner wasn’t too pleased. Having paid a massive chunk of the auction budget to get the left-hander, he once again had a terrible outing in the field. Goenka disgusted, walked off the balcony in a video that has since gone viratl.

Pant has scored just 135 runs in 12 innings this year, averaging a mere 12 and striking at 100. He has batted 4, opened the innings and batted at No.7. On Monday, he moved himself to 3, but that did not pay dividends again. Pant’s flop show meant that Lucknow Super Giants could only manage 205 batting first. At one stage, the hosts looked set to score in excess of 220.

Goenka is known for his very public outbursts and has often come for criticism for the same. While he has showered faith and support in the media towards Pant, his post-game interactions have always seemed frosty. This comes after his controversial fight with KL Rahul, which eventually led to his release.
