WATCH: Mitchell Starc crushes Shamar Joseph’s toe with fiery yorker in AUS vs WI 2nd Test

The term ‘toe-crushing yorker’ took on a literal meaning in the thrilling AUS vs WI 2nd Test at The Gabba on Saturday, as Mitchell Starc unleashed a fiery delivery that struck Shamar Joseph’s toe, forcing him to retire hurt.

The incident happened in the 73rd over of the innings, West Indies were 9 down and were looking to add some quick runs when Starc bowled a pacy yorker which hit Jospeh on his right toe.

Australia made a loud appeal for LBW which the umpire gave it as out. However, Joseph took DRS and replay showed that Starc had bowled a no-ball.

The decision was overturned but Joseph was unable to continue due to pain and was retired hurt, brining an end to West Indies’ innings.
