In their tweet, the WPL captioned the promo with the statement, “Nahi Mahalon Ki Rani, Hai Jhansi Ki Queens Hum. Welcome to #TATAWPL, ye hai ‘Cricket ka Queendom’”, highlighting the resilience and determination of women cricketers.

This caption draws a parallel between these athletes and the valiant Queen of Jhansi, emphasizing their strength and fortitude in the face of challenges, akin to the warrior queen from Indian history.

This promo showcased prominent Indian stars representing the five franchises participating in the tournament. Among the featured players were renowned names such as Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma, alongside many others.

Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals to kick off WPL 2024:

The WPL 2024 kicks off with a thrilling match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, starting at 7:30 PM IST.

MI, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, face off against DC, captained by Meg Lanning. In the 2023 edition, these teams clashed three times, with MI emerging victorious twice, including in the final.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s MI boasts a formidable lineup including Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver, Amelia Kerr, and Shabnim Ismail. On the other hand, Meg Lanning’s DC features strong batting talent with players like Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, and Annabel Sutherland.
