Watch: Chris Jordan scripts history as he becomes first Englishman to take a T20 World Cup hat-trick

Chris Jordan’s homecoming to Barbados turned into a fairy tale as he became the first-ever England bowler to claim a hat-trick in T20 World Cup history. The right-arm seamer rattled the USA lower order, taking four wickets in a single over, including the hat-trick, to dismantle their innings for a paltry 115.

Playing a crucial Super 8 clash against USA, Jordan was brought in for Mark Wood, proved his worth immediately. Bowling the penultimate over of the first innings, he first dismissed Corey Anderson, who toiled hard for 29 runs. However, his hat-trick show bean when he dismissed Ali Khan with a full delivery that zipped through the batsman’s defenses.

Jordan sent Nosthush Kenjige packing after a review confirmed an LBW decision on delivery number18.4. With the hat-trick ball approaching, the tension was palpable. Needing just one more wicket to etch his name in history, Jordan didn’t disappoint. A full ball, tailing in, found Saurabh Netravalkar completely out of sorts, shattering the middle stump and sending the USA innings packing for a mere 115 runs.

It’s also the third hat-trick of the tournament, with Pat Cummins achieving the feat twice for Australia earlier (against Bangladesh and Afghanistan).
