‘Want to see Rizwan as captain’: Shahid Afridi not in favour of son-in-law as captain

There isn’t one decision in Pakistan cricket, that isn’t questioned by their former players. Now Shahid Afridi, former skipper, has questioned the decision to name Shaheen Shah Afridi as the T20I skipper. He called out the PCB, and said that Mohammad Rizwan should be leading the side in the shortest format.

Talking on GeoTV/ Samaa TV, Afridi said, “(I admire Rizwan’s) hardwork and focus level. His best quality, which I like most, is only focusing on his game and paying no heed to who doing what and what not. He is really a fighter!”

“I want to see him (Rizwan) as the T20 captain, but, mistakenly, Shaheen became the skipper.” Both Shaheen and Rizwan have proved their worth as skippers in the PSL. Meanwhile, Shaheen will start his journey as Pakistan captain in the T20I series against New Zealand, that starts on January 12, in Auckland.
