Captain Jitesh Sharma played an unbeaten 30-run knock to help NECO Master Blaster lift the Vidarbha Pro T20 League trophy on Sunday. The title win mark’s the keeper-batter’s second within a month, having helped RCB end their 18-year jinx in IPL earlier on June 3. Sharma was an integral part of the RCB side that defeated PBKS in IPL 2025 final to lift their maiden trophy.
Jitesh wins yet another trophy
Jitesh’s team NECO were set a 179-run target by Pagariya Strikers in the Vidarbha Pro T20 League final. NECO opener’s Dighade (80) and Daga (22) provided the perfect start for Jitesh and co. in the run-chase. While Meshram played a handy 42-run knock, impact player Rauthan was dismissed just for 1 run.
It was then Sharma’s turn to display magic and he did it in some stellar fashion. Jitesh raced to 30 runs off just 11 deliveries, striking one four and three sixes at a strike rate of 272.72. His blitzkrieg helped NECO Master Blaster chase down the target in 17.5 overs.
Jitesh’s fine form from IPL 2025 spilt over to this tournament as well. In 6 innings in Vidarbha Pro T20 League, Sharma amassed 153 runs, although he isn’t a part of the top 10 highest run-getters. Earlier, he slammed a six off the final delivery in the semi-final to help his team NECO seal a berth in the final.
As a captain, Jitesh led NECO Master Blaster to victories in 3 out of 5 matches played in the league stage. The team finished 3rd on the points table with 6 points to their name. Pagariya Strikers, the team defeated by NECO in the final, were the table-toppers at the end of the league stage.
In IPL 2025, Jitesh managed to score 261 runs in 15 matches, including a highest score of 85*. He averaged 37.28 and boasted of a strike rate of 176.35. The essayed the role of a finisher to perfection, having struck 24 fours and 17 sixes in the season.
