Unpredictable Pakistan does it again, lose U-19 Asia Cup semi-finals to UAE

Another day and yet another unpredictable result for a Pakistan side on field. UAE stunned the Asian giants to sneak a 11-run victory to make it to the finals of ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2023 in Dubai. PAK failed to chase down the 194-run target in 50 overs as they were bowled out by UAE.

UAE stun PAK, reach U-19 Asia Cup finals

The game was a rather low-scoring contest, with both sides’ batters unable to go all guns blazing. Pakistan won the toss and oped to bowl first in the semi-final clash. Aayan Afzal Khan (55), Aaryansh Sharma (46) and Ethan Carl D’Souza (37) guided UAE to a formidable 193-run total as they were bowled out for 47.5 overs.

For Pakistan, Ubaid Shah was the star with the ball as he picked up four wickets. Arafat Minhas and Ali Asfand picked up two wickets each.

Pakistan enjoyed the same success as UAE’s batters had, albeit they fell a little short. Saad Baig (50), Azan Awais (41) and Amir Hassan (27) managed to get PAK to 182 runs. Aayan Ahmed’s two crucial scalps provided the breakthrough fr UAE. PAK was bowled out 11 runs before the target, paving way for UAE to win the semi-finals.

Aayan Afzal Khan was adjudged the Player of the Match.
