In a historic triumph, India secured their maiden Test victory at Centurion in 2021, becoming the only Asian team to do so. The remarkable win was marked by the stellar performances of seamer Mohammed Shami and opener KL Rahul. India had won the match by 113 runs.
Shami claimed eight crucial wickets, while KL named himself in the record books with a remarkable score of 123, highest score by Indian opener in South Africa.

The victory unfolded as a testament to the seam and swing bowling mastery displayed by Shami and Jasprit Bumrah as they restricted South Africa to mere totals of 197 and 191 in the first and second innings, respectively.
South Africa’s captain, Dean Elgar, emerged as a lone warrior in the second innings, frustrating the Indian bowlers with a resilient knock of 77 that spanned over four hours. However, his departure by Bumrah on leg-before on the fifth day was a turning point. The lower order of the South African team faltered and bundled out.
Virat Kohli led India to continue their dominance in foreign lands. This win is more significant as India recently lost their 1st Test in Centurion under the changed leadership of Rohit Sharma.
