‘Taste of…’: IND U19 skipper Uday Saharan says nail-biting semis will help side for final

Saharan, named Player of the Match for his pivotal innings, emphasized the significance of encountering close matches like the semi-final against South Africa, stating, “It is a great feeling to reach the final. We got a taste of close games, and that will be good in the final.” He commended the team environment and coaching staff for their support.

After South Africa posted 244 runs, India’s top-order faltered against the menacing pace attack, leaving them at 32-4. However, Saharan and Dhas orchestrated a historic 171-run partnership, steering India to victory.

Reflecting on their comeback, Saharan remarked, “Yes, we were well behind at one point. But we kept saying that we have to bat till the end. It was a matter of one partnership.” He credited their composure and resilience amidst pressure for the turnaround.
