Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, who was in Visakhapatnam for commentary duty in the IND vs END 2nd Test, is on his way to Kanpur due to the unfortunate demise of his mother-in-law.
It has reported that Sunil Gavaskar has travelled to Kanpur to be with his wife, Marshneil Gavaskar, and their family and will not commentate further on IND vs ENG 2nd Test
In 2022, Gavaskar was in Dhaka for his commentary stints in India vs Bangladesh’s second Test match when his mother died at the age of 95 due to age-related issues.
However, the legendary batter had continued his commentary duties in the fourth day of the Test match.

Meanwhile, India are in commanding position on Day 1 of the Vizag Test. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten century has pushed India over 300 with the loss of four wickets. Earlier, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat against England.
