From selling street food and staying in a tent in Mumbai to winning matches for Team India, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is cricket’s most inspiring rags-to-riches story.
Team India’s young run-machine, who has been in dream form in the ongoing India vs England Test series, has reportedly purchased his dream house in Mumbai.
Jaiswal has reportedly purchased an apartment in Mumbai for Rs 5.38 crore in the Ten BKC project at Bandra East. The apartment is spread across 1,110 square feet, and the deal was registered on January 7th, 2024 by the Indian opener, as reported by Moneycontrol.
From hardship to glory
While Jaiswal is enjoying the highs of his international career, he still reminisces the struggles during his teenage years that helped him become a strong person.
“I will never forget those days of struggle. That made me tough and mentally strong”, Jaiswal had said in an interview to Hindustan Times in 2022.
Jaiswal’s latest heroics, where he slammed an unbeaten double century in Rajkot Test, pushed him into the top 15 of the ICC Test batting rankings for the first time.
The 22-year-old has amassed 545 runs in three Test matches so far and is eyeing to break Sunil Gavaskar’s long standing record of most runs as an opener in a Test series in the remaining two matches.
The fourth Test of the 5-match Test series will begin on February 23 in Ranchi.
