Shubman Gill has finished his runs tally with a stupendous 259 runs at an average of 86.33 and at a strike rate of 103.00 in the ODIs against England. These are just amazing numbers, considering Gill was coming in this series under a bit of pressure. He didn’t have an ideal Test season and a few fans were even questioning his place in the ODI setup. But how brilliantly Gill has responded to his critics, hammering twin fifties and a superb century in the third one-day international in Ahmedabad.

Shubman Gill looked in delightful touch right from the start. While he lost opening partner Rohit Sharma early, Gill was adamant in hitting boundaries right from the start. He drove the extra pace of Mark Wood quite brilliantly, while even putting away Liam Livingstone’s bad balls (which were quite a lot) easily. Gill and Virat Kohli built a century-long partnership to give a magnificent start to India and put the English bowlers to the sword.
