Winning the toss, India were jolted early as they lost Yashasvi Jaiswal on 10. Gill, who scored a crucial century in India’s second innings, couldn’t got off the mark and was dismissed by Mark Wood with a brilliant out-swinging delivery.

The 24-year-old youngster, who enjoyed stunning success in the white-ball format in 2023, has failed to replicate the same success in the longest format of the game.

Gill has registered just a single fifty + score in his last 12 innings he has played in the red ball cricket.
