‘Should have finished game earlier’ Shivam Dube unhappy despite unbeaten Fifty in IND vs AFG 2nd T20I

Shivam Dube took the headlines with his blistering knock of unbeaten 63 runs. Dube is naturally happy with his back to back T20I fifties in the ongoing IND vs AFG series. The southpaw claimed that his role was to take on the spinners which he graciously did, hammering 3 consecutive sixes against Mohammad Nabi. Despite the win, Dube was unhappy has he wanted to finish the game early.

Dube was aggressive from the beginning. He slammed a stunning fifty from just 22 balls to set the pace for India’s chase along with Jaiswal. In the end, he guided India with an unbeaten knock of 63 runs, slamming 5 fours and 4 sixes.

India squad for Afghanistan T20Is out, Virat-Rohit return

Why return of Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma in T20Is could be a step backward?

The skipper is really happy, he told me well played. We both are stroke players, we know our game. My role was to take on the spinners, but our plan was to both attack and finish the game early. There wasn’t any target in mind, but we should have finished the game earlier,” said Dube after the match

After the first game, Dube claimed that Rohit was happy. Now after the 2nd game, he replied the very same. He claimed that his role was to hit the spinners which he executed to perfection. Though he had an off day in bowling, he went on to scalp a solitary wicket.

There are many things that have worked, apart from skill it is about how mentally you prepare for the T20 game. How to handle pressure, and deciding which bowlers to take on,” Dube concluded.
