Sarfaraz Khan’s fine form continues as the batter slammed yet another hundred in the UK on Saturday in India vs India A tie. The Mumbai batter, who has been a part of the India A squad, was left out of the main squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against England. India and India A are currently playing a one-off practice game at the Kent County Cricket Club in Beckenham.
Sarfaraz Khan slams hundred
As per Hindustan Times, Sarfaraz raced to 101 off 76 deliveries before he was retired out. His knock was studded with 15 fours and two sixes. The report states that Sarfaraz’s knock was witnessed by chief selector Ajit Agarkar and NCA head VVX Laxman who were in attendance in Beckenham.
Earlier this month, Sarfaraz had narrowly missed out on a well-deserved hundred in India A’s 1st unofficial Test against England Lions. The batter managed to score 92 runs before he was sent packing. He was then dropped for the second game.
After a long wait, Khan was finally handed his Test debut in the series against England in 2024. He has played 6 Tests so far and has amassed 371 runs, including a highest score of 150. He last featured in the series against New Zealand In November 2024.
Sarfaraz was a part of the team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. However, he sustained a rib injury while fielding, forcing him to be on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan managed to score 38 runs while batting at number three in the practice game. Ruturaj Gaikwad was reportedly dismissed for a duck.
Mohammed Siraj turned out to be quite expensive with the ball, having an economy rate of over 7. But he managed to get two wickets. Bumrah, on the other hand, went wicketless.
