Marketa Vondrousova struggles since Wimbledon

Since claiming her maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, Vondrousova has played in six tournaments and failed to make it past the quarterfinal on all occasions.

At the Cincinnati Masters and US Open, she lost to number one seed Iga Swiatek and 17th seed Madison Keys, respectively, in the quarterfinals. Since then, her results have only worsened. She lost in the first round of the China Open and lost all three of her matches at the WTA Finals to get knocked out of the event in the group stage.

She pulled out of Adelaide International and has now lost in the first round of the Australian Open 2024 to start her year.
