After dismissing Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope in the India vs England 1st Test, Ravichandran Ashwin has become the first Indian to take 150 wickets in the WTC (World Test Championship).
The off-spinner would have started the Test in Hyderabad with his eyes on the 500-wicket mark but has surprisingly secured a different milestone on his way.
Currently, he stands third when it comes to bowlers with the most wickets in the World Test Championship. Australia has dominated the competition ever since it started in 2019, and five of the three top spots are occupied by their bowlers.

Most wickets in WTC
Right now, Ravichandran Ashwin needs 20 wickets to go past both Cummins and Lyon. But, similar to Ashwin, the Aussies are also playing a match (against the West Indies). The Australian duo is going to three more Tests before the IPL 2024 season starts and has a good chance to maintain their lead.
