What a thrilling win for the Punjab Kings (PBKS)! They absolutely annihilated the target of 172, making it look like a cakewalk. Prabhsimran Singh was the star of the show, unleashing a furious attack on the Lucknow Super Giants’ bowlers. His fearless batting of 69 runs (in 34 balls) was a joy to watch, and he was ably supported by the in-form Shreyas Iyer, who notched up yet another half-century. Nehal Wadhera also chipped in with a useful 43*. The PBKS are a team to watch out for in this tournament, winning both their games so far. Catch how every PBKS player fared in their match vs LSG.
PBKS Player Ratings: Prabhsimran, Iyer on top
Prabhsimran Singh 9.5/10: Retained Prabhsimran Singh has finally done well. While Priyansh Arya stole the limelight in the earlier game, the PBKS keeper showed brilliantly. On a deck that wasn’t a belter, the Punjab-born opener was absolutely brilliant as he clubbed both spinners and pacers aptly. One shot against Avesh Khan while stepping out was magnificent to watch. Although he couldn’t close out the game, Prabhsimran made 69 off 34.
Priyansh Arya 2/10: The Delhi southpaw failed after an exciting debut. He was a bit late on the ball tonight as Digvesh Rathi got him with a googly before sending him out with a notebook celebration.
Shreyas Iyer 10/10: Mr. Captain Perfect was at it again. This time in a run-chase. After a selfless 97*, Shreyas Iyer hit another fabulous fifty that sent PBKS over the line. He got to his landmark with a six when his side needed just 1 run. Iyer’s job was to steer the run-chase and he did the job quite magnificently. His captaincy was spot on, too.
Nehal Wadhera 9/10: Coming in as an Impact Sub, Nehal Wadhera made his PBKS debut. He had an iffy start and survived a stumping chance, too. But when he hit his first boundary, there wasn’t looking back for him. Wadhera butchered three fours and four sixes.
Marco Jansen, Glenn Maxwell, & Lockie Ferguson 8.5/10: All the foreigners were decent as well. Marco bowled some great deliveries, using some spice off the deck. Maxwell, meanwhile, was always going to be key in Lucknow and he delivered with a wicket of Rishabh Pant. As for Ferguson, he castled Markram.
Arshdeep Singh 7.5/10: Arshdeep Singh took wickets but even gave runs. He started the proceedings with a superb wicket of Mitchell Marsh. However, then, he got thrashed for some boundaries by Aiden Markram before Abdul Samad took on Arshdeep with utter disdain for 20 runs in an over. Then again, the left-armer came back by taking 2 wickets and giving just 7 runs in the 20th over.
Yuzvendra Chahal 8/10: Yuzvendra Chahal took the prized wicket of Nicholas Pooran with his usual way – luring the batter way outside off-stump, getting him holed out at the boundary. Other than that, LSG batters strolled him quite easily for singles and doubles. He finished at 1/36.
