Pakistan’s change of captains strategy fails to reap rewards, end losing streak

Pakistan succumbed to yet another loss on Sunday at Hamilton as the Kiwis handed Shaheen Afridi and co. a 21-run defeat. The Men in Green haven’t had a good run on the field since the World Cup 2023 and it now looks like the major rehaul of the side isn’t proving to be that effective.

Pakistan’s strategy flops, losing streak goes on

Out of the last 12 international matches played by PAK, the side has managed to win just 2 while losing ten games. The downfall started with the side’s miserable performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 following which Babar Azam was sacked as the skipper.

Shan Masood was named as the new Test skipper and his first mission was the three-match series against Australia. Masood and co were smothered by Australia as they were handed a 3-0 drubbing in Down Under.

In T20Is, young Shaheen Afridi took over the reigns from Azam but has failed to see winning ways yet. The visitors lost the 1st NZ vs PAK T20I in Auckland following which they suffered yet another defeat in the 2nd T20I at Hamilton.
