Out or Not out? Zak Crawley’s LBW dismissal sparks DRS debate during Vizag Test

A DRS review involving England opener Zak Crawley has once again sparked a DRS debate during the IND vs ENG 2nd Test at Vizag on Monday.

During the 42nd over of England’s innings, Crawley was trapped in front off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav. However, the on-field umpire gave it not-out and after a brief discussion, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma reluctantly took the review.

It initially looked like the impact was outside but the ball tracking, surprisingly showed all red which forced the on-field umpire to overturn his decision.

The screenshots showed that only 2.5 stumps were visible when the ball made contact with the Crawley’s leg.

Review…..successful!

The controversial DRS call left the England dressing room in shock as well. Twitter too started to debate over the DRS and whether the technology got it wrong.

No way Zak Crawley was out here, every commentator and expert thought it was missing the stumps or else umpires call. #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/dFmfC0u5Qr
