Not iconic Mohali Stadium! Punjab Kings to play IPL 2024 matches at Mullanpur Stadium

In a surprising development, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) is contemplating a shift from the iconic PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali to the newly constructed Mullanpur Stadium as the home ground for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season. The PCA IS Bindra Stadium has long been the traditional home venue for PBKS in the IPL.

Dilsher Khanna, the Secretary of PCA, recently addressed the media, unveiling that representatives from the IPL franchise have conducted an inspection of the Mullanpur Stadium.

There is a growing likelihood that this newly minted venue might witness PBKS’ matches in the forthcoming season. While there were initial speculations about the Mullanpur Stadium hosting a T20I encounter between India and Afghanistan in January, Khanna clarified that some pending work necessitated the relocation of that fixture to Mohali.

The announcement came with a caption that reads, “The wait is over! PCA New Cricket Stadium will be ready soon for IPL 2024.”
