Nehal Wadhera slams first 50 after IPL 2025 resumption, pulls PBKS out of a hole

So finally, after a gap of 10 days, the IPL 2025 action has resumed, and we already have the first fifty of the tournament, upon it’s return. The milestone went to PBKS batter Nehal Wadhera, who scored his second fifty of the season, this time in just 25 deliveries, to take his side out of a tricky position vs RR on Sunday.

Nehal Wadhera Slams 2nd 50 Against RR

Coming in to bat at 34/3, Nehal hit five fours and three sixes to take PBKS to a situation, where they could get to a commanding total in Jaipur. In addition to his own brilliance, Nehal Wadhera also strung a partnership of 67 with his skipper Shreyas Iyer, when the wickets were falling at regular intervals.

Other Batters Flop

Prior to this innings, he had played a couple of useful knocks for PBKS — 43 vs LSG, and 62 vs RR again, at Mullanpur in early April. But having said that, he was kept quiet in the last three innings, where he returned with scores of 16, 5, and 5. Eventually, he was out for 70 from 37 only. On the other hand, it turned out to be a poor outing for Prabhsimran Singh, who has been Punjab’s most dependable batter this year.

He scored only 21 from 10 deliveries before being removed by Tushar Deshpande. Priyansh Arya also had an off day since he managed 9 from 7, and debutant Mitchell Owen was dismissed for a 2nd ball duck.
