Hardik Pandya had a season to forget as the skipper of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. He was traded to MI from Gujarat Titans and had a poor outing. The 5-time champions became the first team to be knocked out from the race for the top 4. However, Hardik has claimed that that his captaincy is simple and he is not a result-oriented person.
“I think my captaincy is simple. It’s just Hardik Pandya playing with 10 other of his teammates. The mantra is simple. Looking after the players, you give them the confidence, you give them the belief, you give them the love. They will go out and give more than 100 percent and that’s something I ask for,” Hardik spoke on Star Sports.
Not result Oriented
After 2 successful seasons with GT he made a return to his old side. With the Titans he managed to win the IPL on their first season and ended up runners to CSK last year. But things went downhill at Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
Hardik Pandya claimed that his captaincy mantra is simple. It includes himself playing with 10 other players. He looks after the players and that instils confidence in the team.
“I am not someone who is result-oriented, but I am definitely approach-oriented. (I see) what kind of approach they (players) are showing, and if I feel that is suiting the team, I think somewhere down the line it helps the team,” he concluded.
