Bangladeshi premium pacer Mustafizur Rahman delivered a match-winning spell against UAE in Abu Dhabi before joining the Delhi Capitals for the ongoing IPL 2025. To note, DC signed Mustafizur Rahman for the remainder of IPL 2025 after Aussie batter Jake Fraser-McGurk decided to pull out of the tournament, citing personal reasons.
Speaking about his performance against UAE, Mustafizur Rahman impressed with remarkable figures of 4-0-17-2 on a batting-friendly track.
With a target of 192, the home side was bossing the game, requiring just 38 runs from the final 18 balls. UAE batter Asif Khan was in fine touch, having raced to 40 off 16 deliveries. However, Mustafizur Rahman changed the game’s course, delivering a masterful 18th over in which he conceded only three runs, swinging the momentum decisively in Bangladesh’s favor.
Mustafizur Rahman to join DC for IPL
To note, the Bangladeshi pacer was signed by DC for Rs 6 crore for the final phase of the IPL 2025. The signing sparked some confusion, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) initially claimed it was unaware of Mustafizur’s IPL deal. However, he was granted the NOC later on.
“As per the decision of BCB Cricket Operations, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman for his participation in the ongoing IPL 2025 in India, for the period from 18 to 24 May, 2025,” the BCB said in a statement.
