Mumbai Indians batting collapse in MI vs RR clash triggers meme fest from fans on social media

The Mumbai Indians’ struggles continued on Monday night as they were restricted to a paltry 125/9 in their first home match of the 2024 IPL season against the Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium. They were stunned by an exemplary opening spell by Trent Boult (3/22) before Yuzvendra Chahal stifled the innings with his three-wicket-haul.

As expected, social media wasn’t kind to the five-time IPL champions. Twitter was flooded with memes and jokes at Mumbai’s expense. Fans expressed their disappointment with several pointing out the lack of a strong batting performance yet again.

While skipper Hardik Pandya (34) and youngster Tilak Varma (32) showed some fight, the rest of the batting order failed to capitalize. Experienced campaigners like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Tim David continued their lean patch, adding to the team’s woes.
