India won the toss at Rajkot and opted to bat first. Mukesh’s exclusion from the XI was announced by skipper Rohit Sharma at the toss. Mohammed Siraj, who missed out on the 2nd Test in Vizag, makes his return in the 3rd Test.

Mukesh had a tough time with the ball, bowling just seven overs at 6.3 runs an over and going wicketless in England’s first innings in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test. On an ‘unfriendly’ pitch, the 30-year-old was taken to the cleaners by English batters. After his abysmal performance, Bumrah has come to his aid.
