Mohammed Siraj gives Travis Head a ‘BGT’ deja vu, dismisses Australian opener early in SRH vs GT tie

The Travis Head vs Mohammed Siraj battle was one of the major talking points of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). First, the Australian maestro smacked runs off Siraj before the Indian pacer castled him. What followed was a verbal spat, and the two were fined by the ICC as well. Now, the tournament may have changed, but the battle continued. Siraj, playing for the Gujarat Titans (GT) sent back Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Head within the first over.

How Siraj trumped Head in IPL 2025

The battle between Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj was short-lived but gripping. Siraj, who’s rediscovered his rhythm after a patchy start to the season, got the better of the explosive left-hander in the very first over. Head started off with a streaky boundary off an inside edge and followed it up with a fortunate four down to third man.

But Siraj quickly adjusted his lengths and line. After a dot and a firm drive back to the bowler, Siraj changed gears. He pitched it fuller around the middle and leg, enticing Head into a flick. It went aerial and straight into the hands of Sai Sudharsan at midwicket. Head departed for 8 off 5, failing to convert his start, while Siraj struck a crucial early blow.
