Mumbai Indians (MI) have handed an Indian Premier League (IPL) debut to an exciting fast-bowling allrounder, Corbin Bosch. The South African speedster made headlines for opting out late from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 as Bosch came in as a replacement player for injured Lizaad Williams.
Notably, Bosch has been included in the Playing XI for the clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) since Mitchell Santner isn’t fully fit. Skipper Hardik Pandya eluded the star spinner wasn’t available. Also, Karn Sharma, who got hurt during a clash against SRH, has returned too.

IPL 2025: Who is Corbin Bosch?
Bosch brings a wealth of experience and skill to the table. He had a remarkable stint with MI Cape Town in the SA20, claiming 11 wickets in 8 games, including an impressive 4/19 in a title-winning campaign. His ability to contribute with both bat and ball will undoubtedly strengthen Mumbai Indians.Interestingly, this won’t be Bosch’s first foray into the IPL. He was previously part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) setup, where he worked as a net bowler before being signed on as a replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile. Although he didn’t get a chance to play a game for the Royals, Bosch is now eager to make his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians.
On the international front, Bosch has already made a name for himself, having debuted for South Africa in both Tests and ODIs. He made his Test debut in the Boxing Day fixture of 2024 against Pakistan in Centurion, just days after his 50-over bow against the same opposition in Johannesburg. Bosch was also called up to replace the injured Anrich Nortje in South Africa’s squad for the Champions Trophy.
