India’s top women’s singles shuttler PV Sindhu and Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan will square off in the Malaysia Masters 2024 semi-final on Saturday, May 25, at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the women’s singles quarterfinal, PV Sindhu, the fifth seed, defeated Han Yue, the top seed from China, 21-13, 14-21, 21-12 to advance to the final four. In the second round, though, the two-time Olympic medallist had to weather a scare from Korea’s Sim Yu Jin.
On the other side the Thai shuttler defeated Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia with a valiant 21-12, 21-23, 21-16 victory in the quarter finals. She had previously defeated Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei and Denmark’s Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt.
