Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. completed a historic win over England in the one-off Test played in Mumbai. In an interview with Jemimah Rodrigues after the match, Harmanpreet Kaur agreed the fact that Mumbai is ‘Lucky’ for her. Being played at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai, this was Harmanpreet’s first Test win as a captain.
Leading Mumbai Indians in the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL), Harmanpreet also went on to win the tournament which was solely played in Mumbai.
Interviewing Harman, Jemimah Rodrigues brought out the connection between the Indian skipper and Mumbai. She said, “There’s something special between you and Mumbai. Winning the WPL trophy and now this.” To which Harmanpreet replies, “Yeah lucky for me“.
Very Emotional: Kaur on historic win
Speaking on her first win as the captain, the senior batter said that it was a very emotional feeling for her as she lauded her team. “Well to be honest I am blank it’s a very emotional feeling for me. Playing test match after a long time it’s great. I think the energy in the team makes difference. If a team shows energy on the field then things can change around quickly,” said Harmanpreet Kaur.

After the match, Harmanpreet Kaur also talked about bowling well with the new ball as both spinners and pacers looked in terrific touch for the home side. “We had nice preparations and was doing situation wise. That helped us a lot. First 40 minutes were crucial. And if we get quick wickets we can win the game. Winning the game was more important than getting 50s. All of them were magnificent including Pooja and many congratulations to each and everyone of them for the win,” added Harmanpreet.
