The Lucknow Super Giants are officially out of the IPL 2025 playoffs race after receiving a defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad in Lucknow on May 19 (Monday). Chasing a total of 206 runs, Abhishek Sharma led the charge as the Southpaw completed a quickfire fifty with the bat.
South African batter Heinrich Klaasen and Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis also played vital knocks with the bat to ensure that the Orange Army completed a convincing win. LSG out of IPL 2025 playoffs race
Earlier in the match, SRH won the toss and invited LSG to have a bat first on a good-looking batting surface. The LSG openers obliged as both Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram completed their fifties with the bat. However, as soon as the opening partnership was broken, LSG lost wickets at regular intervals.
Pant’s horrible run in the IPL 2025 continued as he managed to score just 7 runs before getting scalped by Ehsan Malinga. Nicholas Pooran played a good hand of 45 runs, but apart from him and the opening duo, none of the LSG batters managed to reach the double-digit mark.
For SRH, Malinga scalped two wickets. On the other hand, Harsh Dubey, Harshal Patel, and Nitish Kumar Reddy scalped one wicket each.
