Lowest target India have failed to chase in Test cricket

In Test cricket’s 148-year history, chasing a total in the fourth innings remains the toughest task. Due to the advent of T20 cricket, from time to time, we see scores of even 300 or more get chased, but these are rare occurrences.

The pressure of chasing any total has teams sweating. One wicket brings two or more. Each run seems like ten with passing moments. Even the best of player’s crack. Sachin Tendulkar, who averages 53.78 in Test cricket, averages 36.93 runs in the last innings. The same goes with Brian Lara, who goes from 52.88 to 35.12. And these are arguable the finest batters since Don Bradman.
