As India comfortably won the second Test vs West Indies in Delhi, by 7 wickets, they registered their 185th win in the format, to go with 186 losses. All that has come in 596 matches since 1932. To go with that, India has also been involved in 224 draws over the years.
Interestingly, this was Team India’s 122nd win at home in their 296th match, the third-most by any team. They surpassed South Africa, who have 121 victories to their name — while the top two spots are occupied by England (241) and (262). Australia rule the roost
If one just looks at the W/L ratio, here, es expected the Aussies are the best with 2.543, followed by Team India 2.103, and a surprise entrant, Pakistan with 2.100. The worst is that of Zimbabwe — 0.209 and Bangladesh — 0.264. India’s ratio took a hit last year, when they lost to New Zealand at home 0-3, that came as a big shock to one and all.
It also goes on to show that most top teams in the world win easy at home, while it is a struggle for teams like New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
