Leading from behind: Fans slam injured Temba Bavuma as Marco Jansen misses out on maiden century

Fans on the social media were left fuming after skipper Temba Bavuma did not come out to bat as Marco Jansen was left stranded on 84 runs on the other end. Jansen could have reached his maiden international century, but Temba Bavuma who was injured during the Indian innings decided not to come out to bat as the South African first innings ended on 408/9.

Difference between a captain & leader: Once Graeme Smith came out to bat with a broken hand but Temba Bavuma refused to come out to bat when Jansen needed 16 runs to get a ton. He’s not a leader but a self centered Quota captain & a selfish player as we saw in World Cup #SAvIND https://t.co/D7ZuCJktek

If Jansen is say 90 odd not out after the 9th wicket falls Temba Bavuma should come to bat. Remember Malik batting left handed to ensure Wasim got to his maiden Test fifty. Sachin got a ton on Irani Cup debut when Gursharan came with a broken finger in 1989

A sentiment of empathy for Jansen – the suggestion that Bavuma should have come out for his 100, just to stand there in support. In cricket, these moments of camaraderie and acknowledgment hold a special place, creating memories that transcend the game itself. #INDvSA pic.twitter.com/vqM7k2yxep

Meanwhile, South Africa managed to get an early wicket in the second innings. Express pacer Kagiso Rabada continued his good run with the ball as he got the wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma for duck. At present, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal are at the crease for the visitors.
