“Just backing Samson”: Sreesanth says he’s not received any notice from KCA

Two days after the Kerala Cricket Association decided to suspend S Sreesanth for making statements against the association, the former cricketer has claimed that he has not received any notice. The KCA adopted a resolution to suspend the pacer for three years for his pro-Sanju Samson and anti-KCA statements earlier this year. The decision was taken at a special general body meeting that was held in Ernakulam on April 30.

“Was just supporting state cricketer”

As per news agency ANI, Sreesanth claimed that he did not know on what grounds the action was taken, adding that he was just supporting a state cricketer. He claimed that he had not recieved any notice from the KCA and that he had heard about his suspension only from the media.

I have not recieved any notice or order from the KCA, we have only heard of it from the media. I don’t know yet on what grounds the action has been taken. I was only backing a state cricketer. Once we see the notice, we will explore our options,” Sreesanth said.

It is pertinent to note that Sreesanth had pledged his unwavering support to protect Samson after the keeper-batter was dropped from the side’s Vijay Hazare Trophy and Rani Trophy squad earlier this year.

Sreesanth vs KCA

“They (KCA) take players from other states to play for us. For what? Disrespectful to our Malayali cricketers. We have just one player at international level, Sanju. Let’s all support him,” Sreesanth had told Onmanorama.

In response, the KCA claimed that Sreesanth was unaware of Kerala cricket. In a statement, the board said that Sreesanth had not been acquitted in the IPL spot fixing allegation, adding that such a player need not offer protection to any of the state’s players. Further, the KCA stated that it had showed good-will by including Sreesanth in their Ranji Trophy side following the completion of his ban period.
