Jemimah Rodrigues continues red-hot form, slams quickfire 82 in IND vs AUS 1st ODI

Youngster Jemimah Rodrigues was in some form as she completed a fine fifty with the bat. The right-handed batter bailed out her side from a tricky situation in the ongoing IND vs AUS 1st ODI being played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Jemimah Rodrigues was eventually scalped by Gardner for 82 runs off just 77 deliveries. Her innings included seven boundaries as team India managed to post a decent total in the IND vs AUS 1st ODI.

India posted 282/8 in 50 overs

Apart from Jemimah Rodrigues, Pooja Vastrakar also played a brilliant knock of 62 runs off just 46 deliveries. As a result, the Women in Blue posted 282/8 in their allotted 50 overs. For Australia, Gardner and Wareham scalped two wickets each.

“Looking at the wicket, our plan was to score at least 270 runs. Me and Jemi were talking about playing till the end, as we didn’t have enough wickets in hand. Ah, in particular, I didn’t think of targeting any individual bowler, but the plan was to pounce on the loose delivery,” said Pooja Vastrakar during the mid-innings break.
