The week 5 of IPL 2025 perhaps saw some of the best matches in the tournament so far. Barring one PBKS vs KKR encounter that was washed out, all produced some good results. Virat Kohli continued his excellent show, and so did KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. On bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah was excellent, and so were Trent Boult and Josh Hazlewood. But it was a week that didn’t belong to the spinners.

Virat Kohli
RCB played two matches in the week, and Virat Kohli was excellent in both outings. He scored two fifties and 121 runs overall. He averaged 60, and showed everyone, why he is still the best in the business, even at 36.
Shubman Gill
GT’s Shubman is the second opener for this week, and also the skipper. He scored 90 runs in the only match of the week for the team. He scored 90 runs and his strike-rate was 163 there. Largely, he has been very successful at the top of the order.
KL Rahul
DC played two matches, and Rahul turned up for the team on both occasions. In one he scored 41, and in the other he chipped in with a valuable 57. Against RCB he looked in different mood and his celebration did make a statement for sure.
Suryakumar Yadav
There is a tussle between Surya and Sai Sudharsan for the orange cap. In the last two matches, the MI batter scored 94 runs in all, with an innings of 54 as well, and an overall strike-rate of 200. He is at the centre of MI’s comeback in the season.
Aiden Markram
LSG are kind of slipping in the race to Playoffs, but Aiden Markram has been churning out performances. In the gone week, he scored a fifty and even picked up two wickets, at an average of 15. Still, a lot of work needs to be done by him and LSG.
Axar Patel
Wasn’t the best with the ball in the first half of the tournament, but has really picked up some pace. In two matches, he picked up two wickets, while his economy was only 6. With the bat he scored 49 runs at an average of 49, and a strike-rate of 148.
Tim David
Dasher Tim David scored 42 runs in two innings last week. Though it wasn’t the best performance by any stretch of imagination, but then still decent enough to make it as a power-hitter in the team.
Krunal Pandya
Two matches reaped the senior Pandya, 73 runs. He managed to score a fifty after 9 years in the IPL. Though last week, he wasn’t the best with the ball, and picked up just one wicket, but he is truly an asset for any team.
Trent Boult, Josh Hazlewood & Jasprit Bumrah
The trio have 18 wickets combined in the last week alone. Boult topped the charts with seven scalps, followed by Hazlewood at 6, Bumrah at 5. These veterans have shown, there is no substitute for experience. All three had strike-rates under 10 in this window.
