IPL 2025 rising stars of week (Apr 21-27): Ayush Mhatre & Prabhmsimran Singh continue to make headlines

While everyone is just busy talking about 14-year-old wonderkid, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his maiden IPL ton; there were a few more young performers who just slipped under the radar. Last week, pacer Vaibhav Arora came up with decent two matches for KKR, while Prabhsimran Singh continued to impress for PBKS.

Also, there was a 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, who, though not as young as Suryavanshi, impressed with an impactful innings for CSK. Now, InsideSport takes a look at the rising stars of the IPL, for week April 21-27.

In Praising Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Don’t Forget Ayush Mhatre

First he scored 15-ball 32 on his IPL debut vs MI, and then came up with a score of 19-ball 30 vs SRH. Ayush Mhatre has been rather consistent in his two outings for CSK, and has also provided them much-needed stability at the top of the order, in what has been a struggle-filled batting season for them. He was drafted into the side after Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra failed, and Ruturaj Gaikwad got injured; and now he looks irreplaceable.

Vaibhav Arora Making Presence Felt

KKR has been bad in IPL 2025, but then when their pacers are struggling, for a change Vaibhav Arora had a good week. In the two matches, vs GT and PBKS, he ended up picking up three wickets, at an average of 26 and a strike-rate of 16. Overall this year, he has picked up 12 wickets in 9 matches.

Prabhsimran Singh Best Batter for PBKS?

Slowly and gradually, Prabhsimran Singh is proving to have an excellent season. In 9 matches he has scored 292 runs for his team. In fact, in their last match vs KKR, he went on to score 83 in just 49 deliveries. He has two fifties this year, and is team’s second highest run-getter.

Priyansh Arya Outshines Seniors in Maiden Season

Who would have thought, that a young boy would be leading the run charts — in a team that has Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell.. But Priyansh Arya has been going about his business with much ease. In his last encounter, he scored 69 from 35 vs KKR. Just to remind all, he has a ton this season too, and 323 runs overall, at an average of 35, and a strike-rate of 200.
