Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has announced ticket refunds for their match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which was abandoned due to persistent rain on May 17, 2025. The match was called off without a single ball being bowled, leaving fans disappointed.
In an official statement, RCB confirmed that all valid ticket holders are eligible for a full refund. Digital ticket holders will receive their refunds within 10 working days to the original account used for booking. If the refund is not processed by May 31, fans are advised to contact refund@ticketgenie.in with their booking details to escalate the matter.
For physical ticket holders, the refund process requires surrendering the original ticket to the respective official source from which it was purchased. However, complimentary tickets are not eligible for refunds.
This is not the first time RCB has had to issue refunds this season. The franchise had previously announced refunds for matches scheduled on May 13 and May 17, which were postponed due to the temporary suspension of IPL 2025 amid tensions between India and Pakistan.
Following the washout, RCB and KKR were awarded one point each. This result pushed RCB to the top of the points table with 17 points from 12 games, bringing them closer to securing a playoff berth. Meanwhile, KKR, with 12 points from 13 games, was officially eliminated from the top-four contention.
RCB will now focus on their upcoming matches, hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23 before traveling to Lucknow to face Lucknow Super Giants on May 27. A playoff spot could be secured before their next game if Punjab Kings or Delhi Capitals lose on Sunday.
