IPL 2025: Full list of overseas players with their availability status

The IPL 2025 is set to resume on May 17, but then unfortunately the status of foreign stars is still not known. Or at least, there is a lot of confusion surrounding the same. Call it fear, or the upcoming series’ in the international calendar, but some of the overseas stars will not make it for the rest of the tournament for sure, while a large chunk will still continue to play.

That means, a few teams are also likely to be impacted due to this. InsideSport takes a look at the current status of the all the foreign players, across all teams.

Batting Woes for MI?

The biggest challenge for MI would be to replace the likes of Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks, who won’t be available after the group stages. The duo have scored 336 and 195 runs in the tournament so far, and their departure could disrupt the balance of the team.

Mumbai Indians Available/Unavailable
Ryan Rickelton Till May 25
Bevon Jacobs Available
Will Jacks Till May 25
Mitchell Santner Available
Corbin Bosch Till May 25
Trent Boult Available
Reece Topley Available
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman Available

No Hazlewood Means No IPL Title for RCB?

Perhaps the biggest blow could come RCB’s way. The team looked poised for their first ever title before the break. And now, Bethell won’t be available after May 25, and similar would be the case for Lungi Ngidi. But where it would hurt the most is, that their best bowler, Josh Hazlewood would be absent altogether. He has 18 wickets in 10 matches only.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Available/Unavailable
Jacob Bethell Till May 25
Tim David Available
Romario Shepherd Doubtful
Lungi Ngidi Till May 25
Liam Livingstone Available
Josh Hazlewood Unavailable
Philip Salt Available
Nuwan Thushara Available

PBKS Largely Safe, Enough Resources Available

Luckily for Shreyas Iyer, all his resources are coming back. Except for Marco Jansen, who is available till the group stages only. In short, they won’t have any problem during the rest of the tournament, as far as the availability of players is concerned.

Punjab Kings Available/Unavailable
Josh Inglis Available
Marcus Stoinis Available
Azmatullah Omarzai Available

Xavier Bartlett Available
Aaron Hardie Available

Clouds Over DC, Mitchell Starc Doubtful

Tristan Stubbs, Mitchell Starc, Jake Fraser-McGurk — these players are either confirmed to not play or doubtful. In either case, DC would suffer on that account. As it is, they are in fifth position, and every loss from here on will make it tough for Axar Patel’s team.

Delhi Capitals Available/Unavailable
Faf du Plessis Available
Tristan Stubbs Doubtful
Mitchell Starc Doubtful
Dushmantha Chameera Available
Jake Fraser-McGurk Replaced
Donovan Ferreira Available
Sediqullah Atal Available

Doesn’t Matter Who’s In, Who’s Out?

Once again, SRH are out, so it does not matter who plays for them, or not. BTW, Travis Head and Wiaan Mulder play till the last league match, along with Pat Cummins. Having said that, hopefully the team will come up with improved performances in the remaining fixtures.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Available/Unavailable
Travis Head Till May 25
Heinrich Klaasen Available
Pat Cummins Till May 25
Kamindu Mendis Available
Wiaan Mulder Till May 25
Eshan Malinga Available

Kolkata Well-Covered, But Chances Very Slim

Their main players, Quinton De Kock, Russell, Sunil Narine, Moeen Ali and Nortje are all going to play. But with only 5-10% chance of playoffs qualification, they should only be looking to win their remaining matches. That’s it.

Kolkata Knight Riders Available/Unavailable
Quinton de Kock Available
Andre Russell Available
Sunil Narine Available
Rovman Powell Doubtful
Rahmatullah Gurbaz Available
Moeen Ali Available
Spencer Johnson Available
Anrich Nortje Available

LSG to be Hit Hard, But Qualification Out of Question

The team is still not out of the competition, but then there isn’t much for them in IPL 2025. Having said that, their main men, Markram and Marsh will play all league matches. If in case, they go forward, Miller and Pooran are available.

Lukcnow Super Giants Available/ Unavailable
Matthew Breetzke Available
David Miller Available
Nicholas Pooran Available
Aiden Markram Till May 25
Mitchell Marsh Till May 25
Shamar Joseph Doubtful

Team Out, Players Around for RR

There isn’t any player availability issue for Rajasthan. The team is already out, and Archer is scheduled to leave after May 25. But that doesn’t matter at all for them. They play their last match on May 20 anyways.

Rajasthan Royals Available/Unavailable
Shimron Hetmyer Available
Lhuan-dre Pretorious Available
Wanindu Hasaranga Available
Jofra Archer Till May 25
Nandre Burger Available
Fazalhaq Farooqi Available
Kwena Maphaka Available

Best Team GT Sure to Suffer

They are title contenders and without Buttler and Rabada, their chances will be highly impacted. Buttler has 500 runs in 11 matches. Rabada had only played two, but then he is an excellent bowler. So the team ideally would have wanted him.

Gujarat Titans Available/Unavailable

Sherfane Rutheford Till May 25

As per reports, Conway and Rachin Ravindra are not coming back. Jamie Overton was roped in, but then even before he joined, the IPL was stopped. So, he also won’t be coming. Rest, Noor Ahmad, Dewald Brevis, and Sam Curran are available.
