India Playing XI 1st Test: Prasidh Krishna makes debut, no Jadeja in IND vs SA 1st Test

India Cricket Team have a new Test debutant in Prasidh Krishna. Vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah handed over the debut cap at Centurion ahead of IND vs SA 1st Test. However, with the rain around, India have opted to go with four seamers, leaving out Ravindra Jadeja from India Playing XI 1st Test.

With no Mohammed Shami due to injury, Prasidh Krishna is India’s third seamer. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back with Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul returning as well. KL Rahul is also making his wicketkeeping debut in Test with KS Bharat left on the bench.

Ravindra Jadeja injured

India captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that Ravindra Jadeja had a neck spasm. Hence, Ravichandran Ashwin has come in his place as the only spinner.

“We are playing with four seamers and a spinner. Ashwin is playing in place of Jadeja. Jaddu had a bit of a back spasm, so Ashwin comes in and he is a quality spinner to have. Prasidh is making his debut, along with the other pacers Shardul, Siraj and Bumrah,” Rohit Sharma said at the toss.
