The Indian archery team had a spectacular performance at the Asia Cup Stage 1 in Bangkok, Thailand, topping the medal tally with a total of 8 medals, including 5 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze at the tournament.
Kushal Dalal won gold in compound
Kushal Dalal made India proud by claiming gold in the men’s compound category. In the recurve category, Basanti Mahato and Vishnu Chaudhary wo individual gold medals in their respective women’s and men’s events. Vishnu’s victory was particularly impressive as he won in an all-Indian final against his compatriot Rahul.

The Indian team also excelled in team events, with Kushal and Vishnu contributing to their respective team’s gold medals. The men’s compound team, comprising Kushal, Manav Jadhao, and Ganesh Mani, showed excellent form to clinch the gold medal.
Basanti Mahato’s journey in the women’s recurve final was remarkable. Despite losing the first two sets against You-Jhou Fong from Chinese Taipei, she made an incredible comeback by delivering a Perfect 30 in the third set. She maintained her momentum, scoring 29 in each of the last two sets to secure the gold medal. Earlier, Basanti added a silver to her tally in the mixed team category with Vishnu.
