The Indian batsmen, for some reason or the other, seem to be going through a rough patch at the moment. While Team India faltered in the first Test against England at Hyderabad, chasing 232, now it seems to be the turn of India A batsmen to falter against England Lions in the third unofficial Test at Ahmedabad.
After the opposition opted to bowl, fast bowler Matthew Potts wreaked havoc and dismissed four Indian batsmen in the first session, of the first day itself. At the receiving end were India skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran, who was dismissed on the first ball of the match, Sai Sudharsan (7), Tilak Varma (22), and Rinku Singh (0).
Such was the situation, that at lunch on day one, the India A side was reduced to 83/5. Meanwhile, the first unofficial Test between the two sides ended in a draw, and in the second, the Indian A side registered a win by an innings and 16 runs.
From that team, Saurabh Kumar, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rajat Patidar have been included in the India squad for the second Test match.
