Garth and Cheatle added 21 runs in 7 overs with the latter being falling for just 6. The partnership helped to take Australia beyond 200 as they finished at 219. Vastrakar the pick of the bowlers finished with 4/53, Rana picked up 3/56 and Deepti Sharma who wasn’t having a good day as a fielder, chipped in with 2/45.
India’s response started off in some fashion as the openers added 90 runs in 100 deliveries between them. Verma scored 40 with 8 fours in her knock and was trapped in front by Jonassen in the very first over she bowled.
Smriti Mandhana carried her good form and remained unbeaten on 43 in 49 balls hitting 8 fours. She has Sneh Rana for company at the other end as the team ends the day with 98/1 trailing by 121 runs
