Shreyas Iyer’s stay in the middle has been cut short by a peach of a delivery by Kagiso Rabada. Iyer, along with Virat Kohli, had rescued the Indian cricket team. Coming into bat when the score was 24/3, the duo saved India from a collapse. Shreyas Iyer assumed the role of aggressor while Kohli anchored the innings, not letting the host get ahead in the IND vs SA 1st Test.
Coming from over the wicket, Rabada pitched the ball on a good length near the 6th stump. The ball jagged back in and did not bounce as much as Shreyas Iyer expected.
His lack of feet moment meant that he was stuck on the crease and beaten by the in-seaming delivery. The rapid ball from Rabada rattled the middle stump, and Iyer stood shell-shocked, watching the mess made of the stump by the fast bowler.
