IND vs ENG: Kuldeep Yadav or Steve Smith? Sunil Gavaskar makes hilarious stance comparison

Had Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel not resisted the English spin attack in the third session of the second day of fourth Test in Ranchi, Team India could well have been all out. The duo added 42 crucial runs together and did not let the wickets fall, after India were reeling at 177/7 at one stage.

While Jurel is a decent batsman, with a FC average of over 40, the same cannot be said about Kuldeep. Yet the latter showed immense grit, and scored 17 not out from 72 balls. The way he defended, gave confidence to the Indian camp, that they could reach closer to the English total of 353.

But more than anything, it was his batting stance, that became the talking point, at least among the commentators. Former India opener Sunil Gavaskar called his stance, ‘Steve Smith like’, which cracked everyone up. This was the time when Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were also seen imitating his style.

In fact, on one occasion he reverse swept Tom Hartley for a four, that showed his ability as a batsman.
