India won the toss on Sunday and put Afghanistan to bat. The Afghans produced a decent batting effort but still felt short of average score by 30-40 runs in a short Holkar stadium. Gulbadin Naib top scored for the Afghans with a 35-ball 57. India got four wickets in the last over to see out the Afghan innings for 172.
India lost opener Rohit Sharma for a golden duck early, but Yashasvi Jaiswal made the most of his chance over Shubman Gill by smashing another half-century. Virat Kohli, playing a T20I after 14 months, put in an effective shift of 29 before first match’s man of the match Shivam Dube made the most of his chance by scoring his second consecutive 50. In the end, India reached their target with 26 balls to spare, notching up another series win.
