The second edition of the ILT20 (International League T20) kicked off on Friday, January 19. The opening match of the 2024 season saw the defending champions, the Gulf Giants, take on the Sharjah Warriors. Starting the new season on a high, the Giants registered a 31-run victory and claimed the top spot on the ILT20 Points Table.
The following day, the Dubai Capitals piped the defending champion and claimed the top spot on the points table after their resounding 7-wicket win over the MI Emirates.
With two points each, the Capitals are ahead of the Giants based on the net run rate (NRR). Their 7-wicket victory in just 16 overs has seen them propel to the top spot with an NRR of 2.05, while the Giants trail them with 1.55 points on the ILT20 Points Table. The third and fourth spots are occupied by the Warriors (-2.05) and Emirates (-1.55), respectively.
