Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan has done everything in his power to get a chance in the Indian side. Beside scoring ton of runs in the domestic circuit, he made his opportunity count in the unofficial Test between India A and England Lions. Since 2020, Sarfaraz boasts a stunning first-class average of 84.42 and, in his most recent match, smashed 161 at better than a run a ball for India A against England Lions in Ahmedabad. His crucial knocks earned him his maiden call-up, although his debut remains a doubt. Ahead of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test, Sarfaraz said he has pushed himself to improve as much as possible.
“My strength is that I am not satisfied easily. I play 500-600 balls every day. If I don’t play at least 200-300 balls in a match, I feel like I haven’t done much. It’s a habit now. Practice in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I am used to only one thing, batting and facing deliveries.
“If you want to play five-day cricket, you have to stay patient and practice every day. I play cricket all day and that’s why I can stay on the pitch for a long time,” Sarfaraz said.
